Why does Standard Giving use subscriptions instead of one-time gifts?

Subscriptions let us provide consistent, verified support to people in need—month after month. Your first payment helps the individual featured on this page. After that, your gift supports others facing urgent hardship. You’ll get real stories and updates each month.

How are people selected for support?

We carefully review each application to understand who could benefit most from assistance. While we use advanced technology to help evaluate applications fairly, our focus is on finding people where support could make a lasting difference in their lives. We’ll adjust our evaluation process to align with these objectives and reach those most in need.

How is my subscription used?

Each subscription contributes to a growing pool of funds dedicated to supporting individuals facing financial challenges. Once verified Beneficiaries are selected, the funds are used to directly pay off their debts, providing immediate and meaningful relief.

Is my subscription considered tax deductible?

Generally, subscriptions like the ones offered through Standard Giving Co. are not considered tax-deductible, as they are not classified as charitable donations. As a result, Standard Giving will not be issuing a tax receipt. However, it's always a good idea to consult with a tax professional if you have any questions.

How will I know my contribution made an impact?

Each month you will receive an impact report showcasing how your subscription, along with the collective efforts of our Kindness Community, made a difference. These updates include stories of individuals who’ve received support and insights into the broader impact created by everyone’s generosity. 

Is there a platform fee?

Yes, Standard Giving Co. takes a 20% platform fee from all subscriptions, which supports the mission of connecting people in need with those willing to help. This fee covers the administrative and operational costs of verifying applicants and distributing funds to beneficiaries. The remaining 80% goes directly to beneficiaries.

What qualifies me for support?

All Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside in the United States. To learn more about additional criteria, always check the Impact Partner’s Campaign page when applying. Qualification does not guarantee an Applicant will receive financial support. 

How long does the application process take?

The application process is quick and straightforward, taking no more than two minutes to complete. You'll provide your name, date of birth, and phone number. Once submitted, Standard Giving will verify your information and securely retrieve details about your financial accounts, including outstanding balances, loan amounts, and delinquencies. After this step, your application is officially submitted and enters the review process.

If selected to receive support, you’ll be notified via email.

What type of financial info will Standard Giving see?

Standard Giving will retrieve a soft credit report that provides information about your debt liabilities, including credit card balances, mortgage loans, car loans, student loans, and more. This report also provides an overall financial snapshot including your credit score, total debt, and any accounts in delinquency. 

How does Standard Giving verify my situation?

Standard Giving partners with Spinwheel to verify your identity, using your phone number and date of birth, and then retrieves your financial profile via a soft credit pull.  On occasion, Spinwheel may require the last four digits of your social security number to verify your identity.
